The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) performs various care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. He/she works under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The PCA participates in the orientation and training of personnel.
Maintains established standards of care, policies, objective, and goals in administering professional nursing care to all patients. The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The RN evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
