Overview

Pediatric speech therapist position working with a dynamic multidisciplinary team, in outpatient and inpatient settings. With experience, opportunities may be available in specialty areas, including NICU.  Seeking a team-player with excellent communication skills, strong evidence-based practice, caring attitude towards all patients and their families, and effective time management / organization skills.

Responsibilities of the pediatric speech therapist include:

  • Evaluations, re-evaluations and ongoing direct patient care with children from birth to 18 years
  • Management of a highly diverse caseload including treatment of language, articulation, cognitive, feeding and swallowing disorders
  • Coordination of care with other providers

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

 

Education:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Speech Therapy/Communication Disorders program
  • ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology 
  • Alabama Speech Language Pathology license

Experience:

  • Experience required with pediatric feeding, swallowing, and modified barium swallow studies
