The Paramedic performs a wide variety of patient care activities related to patients being treated and transported to the hospital by ambulance.  The EMT-Paramedic also performs the responsibilities of driving emergency vehicles providing due regard for the safety of others while operating the ambulance. The EMT-Paramedic performs patient care activities when attending to the patient in the patient compartment of the ambulance. The EMT-Paramedic performs Life Support procedures within their scope of practice as approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health EMS Division.

A certified coder is responsible for utilizing coding policies and procedures in evaluating the diagnostic and procedural information within the medical record for determination of accurate APC assignment for reimbursement of services rendered and for verifying/abstracting clinical information into the organization's health database. A certified coder also makes medical necessity determinations for Medicare and Medicaid out-patient testing utilizing the appropriate software.

The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care though assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The RN evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The Facitlities Management technician is trained to help support patients and staff by maintaining and improving a safe and secure physical environment.  Requires a basic knowledge of electric, plumbing, general maintenance, and light construction; as well as read and follow instructions, manuals, work orders and to document work completion.  Ability to work hard, be responsible, reliable, have good people skills and be a team player. This individual possesses the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Paramedics function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Paramedics perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Paramedic is a link from the scene into the health care system.
