This position assists Environmental Services team in maintaining a high quality standard of housekeeping service by performing daily cleaning/restocking patient rooms, nursing stations, restrooms, offices and other assigned areas in accordance with established procedures of the department and Helen Keller Hospital. Aides are expected to display a courteous, friendly and professional attitude toward our customers at all times.

Provides respiratory therapeutic and diagnostic care to patients according to established standards and practices in critical care, general care, and emergency care areas. Performs electrocardiogram and other related examinations for patients as directed. Reports to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services

Performs a wide variety of technical patient care activities and clerical support related to patients admitted to Emergency Services. Assists nursing personnel by performing routine patient care activities.

Performs phlebotomy functions as well as various clerical tasks of routine and specialized nature utilizing knowledge. Assists technical staff by performing routine duties. Exposed to hazardous environments through the course of the work day.

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Responsibilities include knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, proper patient positioning, scanning, digital image management for interpretations, implementation of patient charges, and assists physician as required. Will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible. registry eligibility. Certification in diagnostic ultrasound through means of a registry is preferred within 2 years of employment.

Acts as collaborative member of the clinic team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Assesses and provides appropriate intervention for the problems that patients and families experience related to their health care and treatment to include teaching, counseling and supporting as needed to assist provider, patient and family. Also acts as lead clinician in assistance to provider and/or as dedicated telephone assistant.

2nd Shift - 7 on/7 off (72 hours bi-weekly, 10 hour shifts, 12pm-10pm)
Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.

Admits patients, which includes interviewing, preparing admitting forms, and assigning rooms. Receives all faxed documentation from outside the facility and verifies accuracy and Medical Necessity before attaching to patient accounts.

Acts as collaborative member of the Practice Network team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Returns patient phone calls.

Under general and direct supervision of a Physical Therapist or Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Transfers patients to and from department, prepares patients and equipment for treatment, and performs appropriate housekeeping duties as assigned, assists therapist or assistant in selected procedures and other duties as assigned or required.

Works under the supervision and direction of a Pharmacist filling routine medication orders and other related duties.

Facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
