Acts as collaborative member of the Practice Network team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides patient care under the direction of the RN. Plans, organizes and executes the assembly of surgical case supplies for the Surgery department and Outpatient Surgery Pavilion. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring of supplies, this includes maintaining and updating the computer inventory management system as well as utilizing material management systems for receiving, adjustments and information. Serves as a liaison for surgical services; OR staff, coordinators, and leadership for surgical supply mgmt.

Requires continuous auditory and visual attention to PBX and Nurse Call. The primary responsibility of the Communications Representative is to answer, screen and process all PBX calls and Nurse Call from patients, staff and the general public and dispatch or transfer in a prompt, accurate and courteous manner to the appropriate party or department.

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Responsibilities include knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, proper patient positioning, scanning, digital image management for interpretations, implementation of patient charges, and assists physician as required. Will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible. registry eligibility. Certification in diagnostic ultrasound through means of a registry is preferred within 2 years of employment.

This position assists Environmental Services team in maintaining a high quality standard of housekeeping service by performing daily cleaning/restocking patient rooms, nursing stations, restrooms, offices and other assigned areas in accordance with established procedures of the department and Helen Keller Hospital. Aides are expected to display a courteous, friendly and professional attitude toward our customers at all times.

Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.

To induce and maintain general and regional type anesthetics at the required levels, manage untoward reactions and provide proper intervention and treatment of these reactions.

Works under the supervision and direction of a Pharmacist filling routine medication orders and other related duties.

Facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
