The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, and Dosimetrist. This position functions under the authority of the Clinical Oncology Manager and reports to the Director of the Cancer Center.

This position administers life support care to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital setting, in accordance with
statewide Treatment Protocols and HEMSI Medical Control Physicians, as authorized and directed by physician and/or
paramedic.
Promotes optimal patient outcomes by assisting with medication reconciliation. Interviews patients and reviews medication-related documentation for the purpose of compiling a medication history for patients being admitted to the hospital. Compiled history information is entered into the patient’s electronic health record for the purpose of facilitating medication reconciliation by the admitting provider. May perform a variety of functions which impact the medication reconciliation process and patient care. Seeks assistance/clarification from a pharmacist with any questions or issues that may arise.
