The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse by assessing planning, implementing, and evaluating.  He/she provides direct patient care by monitoring physiological and behavioral status, evaluating patient progress and the effectiveness of interventions, and by performing treatments and procedures.  He/she recognizes, reports and documents clinical observations.  The Licensed Practical Nurse participates in the orientation and training of personnel.

Job Summary Acts as collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity and quality care to patients. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, draw up meds and give injections. Provide patient educations and support as needed to assist providers, patients and family. Answer and return phone calls pertaining to patients medical/clinical questions and concerns.

Utilizes radiographic techniques to obtain diagnostic images. Mammography experience preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast pace environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Follow prescribed techniques in administering general and specific radiographs. Prepare patients for x-rays, explaining procedure, positioning patient and assisting patient at the end of the procedures. Provide protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance or teaching of routine or specialized procedures. Assist in performing first aid as required. Practice sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination. 

The Patient Care Aide(PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards.
