The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is an 11 bed ICU that cares for critically ill children at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. The PICU is staffed by RNs, NPs, and Pediatric Intensivist who work closely together with a supportive multidisciplinary care team to provide acute care to children from 0-18 years of age. We offer a progressive educational program to train staff in pediatric critical care to include monthly inservices from our physicians. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude and a drive for excellence to join our PICU family. We hope to see you soon!

This position represents patient care directed toward pediatric critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and Kids Care transports.

Promotes optimal patient outcomes by assisting with medication reconciliation. Interviews patients and reviews medication-related documentation for the purpose of compiling a medication history for patients being admitted to the hospital. Compiled history information is entered into the patient’s electronic health record for the purpose of facilitating medication reconciliation by the admitting provider. May perform a variety of functions which impact the medication reconciliation process and patient care. Seeks assistance/clarification from a pharmacist with any questions or issues that may arise.
