A registered nurse provides and coordinates total nursing care for patients maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Nursing Care Division and Medical Center policies and procedures.

The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately.  The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.

The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and coordinates delivery of nursing care to groups of patients in compliance with hospital and departmental policies, protocols and procedures.  He/she provides direct patient care by monitoring physiological and behavioral status, evaluating patient progress and the effectiveness of interventions, and by performing treatments and procedures.  He/she recognizes, reports and documents clinical observations.  The Registered Nurse participates in orientation, training and management of personnel.

The nurse practitioner provides comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examination, ordering and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion interventions such as patient and family education and counseling. Also, the NP assumes accountability for indirect care responsibilities, which support patient care including staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement.

Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and practitioners.

Job Summary Coordinates activities of the front office for scheduling patient office visits, procedures and tests with proficiency and compliance.  Inputs patient demographic and insurance information to insure successful processing and payment of claims.  Provides secretarial support for physicians and administrative staff.

In partnership with the RN, the Psychiatric Tech provides direct care to patients (adolescents to elderly).  Provides basic comfort measures, collects data to contribute to the plan of care and carries out interventions at the direction of the RN.

Administer Physical Therapy treatments to patients, working under the plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist.  Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator and/or the Director of Rehab Services. The registered nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care using the nursing processes of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care. Also directs and guides patient care activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
