Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Helps patients and/or staff identify problems and explores with them the alternative choices and outcomes.

In partnership with the RN, the Psychiatric Tech provides direct care to patients (adolescents to elderly).  Provides basic comfort measures, collects data to contribute to the plan of care and carries out interventions at the direction of the RN.

To provide clinical assessments on potential patients of all ages and to provide accurate assessment data to the provider to determine if inpatient psychiatric care is needed. To provide alternatives and appropriate referrals for patients who are not in need of psychiatric inpatient admission. Functions as a liaison between the patient and the on-call psychiatrist or other personnel as appropriate. Keeps clear and accurate documentation and completes the admission process when necessary. Possesses a strong knowledge and ability to document using appropriate psychiatric terminology.

Obtains blood specimens from patients and delivers specimens to the laboratory and/or sends through the transport system.  Correctly identifies patients and specimens.

Job Summary  Greet the public, patients and families in a friendly and professional manner. Collect information from patient and family pertaining to registration and enter into the hospital registration system.  Disseminate paperwork appropriately and timely. Receive incoming telephone calls, answer questions and route to appropriate person or take a detailed message. Schedule patient appointments and accept/process  payments from patients.

Utilizes radiographic techniques to obtain diagnostic images.

The Student Nurse Aide works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Student Nurse include providing direct patient care standards. The Student Nurse must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
