Facilitates resource management activities for inpatients based on identified patients. Coordinates patient’s transition from hospital to home through collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance continuity of patient care, promote cost effective utilization of resources and enhance patient, nurse and physician satisfaction. Provides psychosocial assessment, resources and intervention to hospitalized patients.
Performs quality echocardiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to perform state-of-the art diagnostic ultrasound procedures. The echo/vascular tech is responsible for the distribution of tests to appropriate areas and personnel for timely interpretation and the immediate notification of interpreting physician of any life threatening abnormalities.
The Emergency Medical Tech.- BASIC performs a wide variety of patient care activities related to patients being treated and transported to the hospital by ambulance. The EMT-BASIC also performs the responsibilities of driving emergency vehicles providing due regard for the safety of others while operating the ambulance. The EMT–BASIC performs patient care activities when attending to the patient in the patient compartment of the ambulance. The EMT-Basic performs Life Support procedures within their scope of practice as approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health EMS Division..
Acts as collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Initiates patient care, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens.
