Job Summary    Performs physical therapy procedures and other related tasks under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist (RPT) and assists the RPT in patient activities.  Supervises technicians, volunteers and students as assigned.

The Patient Care Aide (PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. Under the direction of the physicians and clinical staff the Health Care Assistant(HCA) supports the assigned unit by providing technical patient care services and support related to patients on the nursing unit. Additionally assists staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments with routine patient care activities and clerical support as needed. Entry-level position performing basic non-invasive cardiac procedures, which include, but are not limited to, 12-lead electrocardiogram, Holter monitoring, and basic rhythm interpretation.

Provides patient transport to and from and/or between nursing units and ancillary departments. Provides support to the clinical staff by maintaining linens, wheelchair access, and performs light housekeeping duties.

 The Scrub Assistant, under the guidance of the RN provides services to surgical patients, maintaining an aseptic environment.  The scrub assistant assists in the transporting of patients.
