AICU is an 8-bed Medical/Surgical Adult ICU at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus. Orientation consists of working with an experienced staff and length of orientation is typically 6-12 weeks depending on experience. AICU is the only adult critical care unit at the Women/Children campus. The Transfer Specialist accurately listens and responds appropriately to requests from transferring physicians, hospitals, inter-departments, and co-workers. Transfer specialist ensures all paperwork and computer entry is checked for accuracy and continually enhances his or her knowledge regarding processes.
