The RN Case Manager is to support the physician and interdisciplinary team in facilitating patient care, with the underlying objective of enhancing the quality of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction while managing the cost of care and providing timely and accurate information to payers. This role integrates and coordinates Utilization management, care coordination and discharge planning functions. The Case Manager is accountable for a designated patient caseload and plans effectively in order to meet patient needs, manage the length of stay, and promote efficient use of resources.
Provides quality nursing care to the patient in the Imaging Services department. Identifies patient needs and priorities for care and the attainment of /or progress towards patient outcomes. Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed.
Accurately answers telephone calls from physicians, nurses, ancillary personnel and other internal and external customers and/or agencies and accurately connects them with the appropriate personnel. Accurately communicates and dispatches work orders utilizing various communication devices. Promptly and accurately initiates off-line procedures when indicated. Performs secretarial tasks such as typing, filing, etc. Interacts extensively with other departments both in written and telephone correspondence. Provides support in planning, scheduling, and organizing routine department activities.

The nurse practitioner/physician assistant provides comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examination, ordering and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion interventions such as patient and family education and counseling. Also, the NP assumes accountability for indirect care responsibilities, which support patient care including staff and student education, clinical research if applicable, program development, and quality improvement.
This position is for a medical physicist who will focus on MRI performance evaluation, quality assurance and MRI Safety across the Huntsville Hospital System. The MRI physicist will serve as the Magnetic Resonance Safety Expert (MRSE) and will assist the MRSO and MRMD when they need assistance or otherwise are unable to answer MR safety questions or situations.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides patient care for all age groups. The LPN performs technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures, assists and reinforces routine education plans, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
The Speech Therapist assumes primary responsibility for evaluation of the patient, planning, implementing, supervising, reevaluating and changing the treatment program. AICU is an 8-bed Medical/Surgical Adult ICU at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus. Orientation consists of working with an experienced staff and length of orientation is typically 6-12 weeks depending on experience. AICU is the only adult critical care unit at the Women/Children campus. The AICU offers a challenging workflow for RN’s. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is an 11 bed ICU that cares for critically ill children at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. The PICU is staffed by RNs, NPs, and Pediatric Intensivist who work closely together with a supportive multidisciplinary care team to provide acute care to children from 0-18 years of age. We offer a progressive educational program to train staff in pediatric critical care to include monthly inservices from our physicians.
