Additionally, under the direct supervision of licensed nurses, the nursing assistant performs various duties to assist in the care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
The Hospitality Assistant is responsible for delivering and retrieving patient meal trays, providing individualized assistance to each patient, Hospitality Rounds and nourishment services.
Greets public, patients and families. Using appropriate system, schedules out-patient appointments, prepares new IP orders and enters patient charges. Performs clerical functions, to include answering incoming telephone calls, typing, word processing and copying. Completes Time and Attendance editing and department/therapist productivity reports. Clarifies and/or resolves issues with any aspect of medication orders as necessary, including but not limited to: therapeutic duplication, medication/dose/frequency appropriateness, medication interactions, dosage form clarification, renal dose adjustments.
Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutics alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.
Conducts routine tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, and performs related duties, following established standards and practices.
