Executes appropriate patient care by assisting the physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures. Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Evaluate, dispense, and appropriately file outpatient and indigent prescriptions. Counsel employees and indigent patients on the appropriate use of medications. Maintain outpatient inventory. Supervise pharmacy technical staff.
Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. The phlebotomist works under the immediate supervision of the Medical Technologist/Technician, is primarily responsible for the phlebotomy procedures, including veni-punctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, bleeding times, urine collection and drug screen collections. The phlebotomist is also responsible for processing in the reference lab reports and for sorting/charting various lab results. The phlebotomist is expected to assist in certain clerical duties, such as running daily reports, assisting with the out-patients, taking orders off of the computer, putting up supplies and cleaning their trays and any work area.
Responsible for obtaining Radiographic Images of diagnostic quality while adhering to departmental standards and protocols, with little supervision. Collaborates with other professionals in and out of the Hospital to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes.
Acts as collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Initiates patient care, gathers vital signs, prepares patient and exam room for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physician, patient and family. Assists coworkers and draws blood as needed.
