Under the direction of the physicians and clinical staff the Health Care Assistant(HCA) supports the assigned unit by providing technical patient care services and support related to patients on the nursing unit. Additionally assists staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments with routine patient care activities and clerical support as needed. Patient Care activities include vital signs, activities of daily living, transport, and transfer of patients to include discharge. Clerical support includes directing incoming calls and responding to patient calls, entering patient charges in the computer system, maintaining patient charts, unit files and secretarial supply levels and being responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
Communicates data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. Serves as a liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments, and Information Technology (IT) to
align clinical and IT standards with department workflows, processes, and policies. Acts as a change agent for hospital leaders and clinicians to promote adoption of new processes
and technologies. Serves as the clinical leader for projects involving technology changes that impact nursing and vice versa with the clinical team members. Ensures appropriate clinical leaders are included in decisions involving information technology. Coordinate clinical processes and workflows across the organization that involve both nursing and information technology.
