The Registered Nurse (RN) new graduate will be part of a 6-week or longer as need determines Internship Program. The new grad will orient on each unit doing three 12- hour shifts until rotating through the specific Service Line (SL) units. The new grad and mentor will work together to care for patients and develop a nursing foundation and skills necessary for positive patient outcomes. Upon program completion, the new grad will choose a SL unit he or she wants to be hired to and complete unit-specific orientation. The position will allow for expanding current nursing knowledge and skills and provide numerous opportunities for growth and further development.
The phlebotomist works under the immediate supervision of the Medical Technologist/Technician, is primarily responsible for the phlebotomy procedures, including veni-punctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, bleeding times, urine collection and drug screen collections. The phlebotomist is also responsible for processing in the reference lab reports and for sorting/charting various lab results. The phlebotomist is expected to assist in certain clerical duties, such as running daily reports, assisting with the out-patients, taking orders off of the computer, putting up supplies and cleaning their trays and any work area.
Performs clinical nuclear medicine testing including general studies, cardiac studies, and the computer interactions associated with these studies.
Contributes to the development of policies, procedures, standards and objectives, and quality assurance needs for the provision of Nuclear Medicine services
Provides laboratory services to meet the needs of patients performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices. Directs, supervises, and coordinates functions and activities in any or all divisions of the clinical laboratories.
Troubleshoot, locate and repair faults in circuits and devices. Keep up with preventive maintenance schedule and testing of all devices. Maintain all associated paperwork. Oversee all installations of new systems and additions to existing systems.
The Student Nurse Aide works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Student Nurse include providing direct patient care standards. The Student Nurse must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care though assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The RN evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
The Clinical Tech works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the clinical tech include providing for direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The tech must demonstrate the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple tasks, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Obtains blood specimens from patients and delivers specimens to the laboratory and/or sends through the transport system. Correctly identifies patients and specimens.

Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions/specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.
Provides medical nutrition care to patients through nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention and education utilizing evidence based guidelines. Develops care plans with appropriate follow-up and reassessment of intervention. Manages the total nutritional care of patients receiving Enteral Nutrition. Assess and diagnose patients for malnutrition.

Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is directly responsible for directing and coordinating the Senior Care Unit in a manner reflective of the Hospital’s philosophy and objective for maintaining required supplies and staffing.
This position is responsible for day-to-day operational management of clinical support activities and functions in the Geriatric Psych department.
The Centralized Scheduling Representative will promptly answer telephone calls and schedule patients in a timely manner within Department guidelines. In addition to scheduling outpatient tests and procedures, the Centralized Scheduling Rep will enter demographic and insurance information, Pre-Cert Info when applies, into the 1Chart Scheduling system. The Centralized Scheduling Representative accurately listens to requests from patients, physicians, physician’s office personnel, and inter-hospital departments in an effort to effectively schedule patients for procedures giving high priority to customer service and complete customer satisfaction. Must maintain the Dept Standards of “Talk Time” and also working together as a team. The Scheduling Representative is responsible for checking Medical necessity, and patient Insurance. The Centralized Scheduling Representative assists in maintenance and upgrade of the 1Chart Scheduling system.
Manages cardiac databases for the Quality Management Services (QMS) department: abstracts data and submits for assigned database within established timeframes.
Coordinates the management of the Huntsville Hospital Infection Control program. Investigates and monitors known or potential sources of suspected infections in order to determine source and ensure control. Knows standard methods and criteria for identifying Healthcare Associated infections. Provides related education to staff. Reviews sterilization and disinfection techniques and recommends changes as necessary.
Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating the continuing education (nursing and non-nursing) and continuing
medical education programs for Huntsville Hospital. Reviews approval processes of training requirements for other professional groups and determines the feasibility of facilitating such approvals. Maintains an awareness of associated expenses and potential revenue producing or cost saving opportunities within the programs. Maintains awareness of ABN, MASA, ACCME and other appropriate governing body requirements and incorporates them in the CE/CME
processes.
