AICU is an 8-bed Medical/Surgical Adult ICU at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus. Orientation consists of working with an experienced staff and length of orientation is typically 6-12 weeks depending on experience. AICU is the only adult critical care unit at the Women/Children campus. The AICU offers a challenging workflow for RN’s. The 3W&C Surgical Unit at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus offers an exciting workflow for the staff. This adult surgical floor receives a variety of patients that includes GYN, GYN Oncology, Breast Cancer, Postpartum, low risk Antepartum, ENT, Plastics, & Pain patient diagnoses. The Administrative Supervisor is accountable for the overall functioning of the organization on evenings, nights, and weekends. Primarily responsible for responding to hospital administrative concerns and implementing hospital policy. Holds oversight for inpatient units staffing and allocation of staff to meet workload demands. Assists in placement of float staff in general medical or critical divisions. The Administrative Supervisor collaborates with the Directors and Nurse Managers on operational issues.
The nurse practitioner provides comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examination, ordering and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion interventions such as patient and family education and counseling. Also, the NP assumes accountability for indirect care responsibilities, which support patient care including staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement.

Job Summary
Acts as collaborative member of the clinic team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Responsible for the day to day operations of a multiple physician clinic, to include the effective management of clinical systems, human resources, financial and environmental management. Promotes collaborative practice with other departments, providers and clinics, always exhibiting the ability to work with others to find solutions to difficult human, technical or administrative problems.
Provides medical nutrition care to patients through nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention and education utilizing evidence based guidelines. Develops care plans with appropriate follow-up and reassessment of intervention. Manages the total nutritional care of patients receiving Enteral Nutrition. Assess and diagnose patients for malnutrition.
