Job Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of Biomedical Maintenance staff in the repair, maintenance, and efficient operation of utilities and various mechanical, electrical and other systems and equipment located throughout the facility to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the patients and staff of Huntsville Hospital.
This position represents scheduled weekend respiratory therapists specialized in providing critical care, emergency response, and critical care transport for adults.

Acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.

Promotes optimal patient outcomes by assisting with medication reconciliation. Interviews patients and reviews medication-related documentation for the purpose of compiling a medication history for patients being admitted to the hospital. Compiled history information is entered into the patient’s electronic health record for the purpose of facilitating medication reconciliation by the admitting provider. May perform a variety of functions which impact the medication reconciliation process and patient care. Seeks assistance/clarification from a pharmacist with any questions or issues that may arise.
