Pediatrics is a 38 bed medical surgical floor located within Women and Children’s Hospital. Our nurses focus on the medical needs and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to 21 years of age. The Patient Care Aide (PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Patient Care Aide must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Responsible for clinical, consultative and educational activities that identify and facilitate trauma processes and promote staff education.  Guides the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of the trauma program under the supervision of the Trauma Program Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager.  Works closely with other clinical areas, ancillary departments, and pre-hospital personnel to ensure consistency and quality of care for the trauma patient. This position is responsible for communication of resource needs across multiple departments.
