Registration Representatives are responsible for entering accurate patient and guarantor information into the CPSI  computer system.  These steps are to be followed in accordance with the established policies and procedures and under the direction of the supervisor.

The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment.  The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs.  The RN evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes.  The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.

The Denial and Appeals Case Manager is responsible for overall management of clinical denials by conducting a comprehensive analytic review of clinical documentation to determine if an appeal is warranted. Where warranted, the Clinical Appeals specialist will write sound, compelling factual arguments to support the hospital stay.  This individual is a liaison and point of contact to/for outside payers for denial and appeal inquiries.

The RN Case Manager is to support the physician and interdisciplinary team in facilitating patient care, with the underlying objective of enhancing the quality of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction while managing the cost of care and providing timely and accurate information to payers. This role integrates and coordinates Utilization management, care coordination and discharge planning functions. The Case Manager is accountable for a designated patient caseload and plans effectively in order to meet patient needs, manage the length of stay, and promote efficient use of resources.  

The Patient Care Aide(PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The dialysis attendant provides patient transport to and from the dialysis department via wheelchair or bed. The dialysis attendant works under the direction of the RN. Responsible for facilitating the improvement in the overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation. Obtain appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing, patient caregivers, and coders. To ensure that appropriate patient centered clinical data, quality metrics and reimbursement is received for the level of services rendered. That the clinical information utilized in profiling and reporting outcomes is complete and accurate. On a consistent basis the individual will maintain ongoing education relative to CDI/ACDIS/AHIMA and the Coding Clinic.
