Maintains established standards of care, policies, objective, and goals in administering professional nursing care to all patients. Prepares patients for surgery by performing diagnostic test required by the surgeon and anesthesiologist, documenting past medical/surgical history and current home medications and reporting abnormal results to the appropriate person (surgeon, nurse practitioner, anesthesia evaluator, etc.).  The pre-admission RN also prepares patients for the cath lab and other hospital admissions.

Responsible for the performance of a variety of tasks and services to assure patient is meeting third party payor requirements or Medical Staff approved criteria for hospital admission, continued stay or performance reviews.  Assist with daily activities as needed related to the over-all operation of the Quality Management Department and the Medical Center.

The Paramedic performs a wide variety of patient care activities related to patients being treated and transported to the hospital by ambulance.  The EMT-Paramedic also performs the responsibilities of driving emergency vehicles providing due regard for the safety of others while operating the ambulance. The EMT-Paramedic performs patient care activities when attending to the patient in the patient compartment of the ambulance. Performs all functions in relationship to preparing all foods for meal service for patients and cafeteria. This includes breakfast, lunch, supper, all meats, vegetables, modified diets, special functions and any other food items as directed.

The nurse practitioner provides comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examination, ordering and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion interventions such as patient and family education and counseling. Also, the NP assumes accountability for indirect care responsibilities, which support patient care including staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement.
