The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. Under limited supervision, performs blood tests and studies morphology of constituents of blood to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs various bacteriological mycological virological and parasitological tests to provide data on cause and progress of disease.

Assist the Registered Nurse or the Licensed Practical Nurse in patient care tasks not requiring licensure. Implements care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. Performs clerical functions according to the nursing service policies and procedures.
