The Revenue Cycle Liaison bridges clinical departments, patient access, health information management (HIM/coding), managed care, and central business office (CBO) teams across the hospital system to ensure clean, compliant claims and optimal reimbursement. This role works across multiple facilities and service lines (inpatient, outpatient, ED, ancillary), translating payer and regulatory requirements into actionable workflows for front-line and clinical staff, and escalating systemic issues to revenue cycle leadership.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between hospital departments (nursing units, ED, surgery, ancillary services) and centralized revenue cycle functions (patient access, HIM/coding, billing, CBO, managed care)
• Monitor system-wide revenue cycle KPIs — days in A/R, denial/write-off rates, clean claim rate, point-of-service collections, DNFB (Discharged Not Final Billed) — and report trends by facility/department
• Monitor high-volume or high-dollar denials (medical necessity, authorization, eligibility, coding, timely filing) and coordinate corrective action plans with clinical and coding staff
• Support charge capture integrity by partnering with clinical departments and Revenue Integrity team to resolve charge description master (CDM) issues and workflow breakdowns
• Educate and train clinical, registration, and unit-level staff on documentation, insurance verification, prior authorization, and financial clearance requirements
• Facilitate recurring revenue cycle meetings with department directors, HIM, and finance to address systemic bottlenecks
• Assist in onboarding new service lines, facilities, or acquisitions into standardized revenue cycle workflows

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
• 3–5+ years of experience in hospital revenue cycle, patient financial services, HIM, or managed care within a hospital/health system setting
• Working knowledge of inpatient/outpatient billing
• Strong cross-functional communication skills with ability to influence clinical stakeholders without direct authority
• Experience with major EHR/revenue cycle platforms
