This position provides support by coaching, counseling, and advising Managers/Unit Directors on all performance issues; to include: terminations, conducting Title VII investigations, effectively applying policy and procedures and performing other general Human Resources functions.
Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations to determine if policy violations have occurred and to recommend resolution of employee complaints to Managers/Unit Directors while ensuring fairness and consistency. Works closely with Managers/Unit Directors to ensure all policies and procedures are understood, communicated, and consistently administered to all employees. Assists with the research of EEOC charges, unlawful termination allegations, complaints, grievances, unemployment compensation claims, exit interviews, unlawful harassment, and equal pay complaints.
Education
Require Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Human Resources or Business Management.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years experience in Human Resources, preferably in employee relations.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must be able to effectively communicate with employees and managers regarding sensitive and often complicated issues. Oral presentation skills required. Must be able to set priorities, coordinate and organize multiple tasks and maintain control of work flow. Must be proficient in routine mathematical computations and analyses. The ability to read, comprehend and prepare moderately complex written material, such as government regulations or policies and procedures is required. Must be able to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment. Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, word processing, spreadsheet software and e-mail.
