Performs repetitive and complex laboratory analyses. Correlates and interprets laboratory data based on knowledge of physiological conditions affecting test results. Designs, evaluates and implements new methods. Supervises a laboratory section/shift in the absence of the supervisor
Education
Certification as a MT or MLS from a nationally recognized credentialing agency, i.e., ASCP, HEW, or AMT.
Experience
Four or more years experience as a medical technologist in the lab section/shift strongly preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the identification and reporting of number and names. Must have the ability to make decisions concerning resources, technical problems, or other needs of the department with minimal direction.
