This position represents patient care directed toward pediatric critical care areas; step down areas, and general care areas
Education/Licensure/Certifications: HS/GED Required. Must be licensed by the ASBRT and registered by the NBRC or credentialed as a Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) by the NBRC. Certification of PALS and NRP are preferred for all applicants and are mandatory within one year. Certification of BLS is preferred for hire processes and required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer. Certification of ACLS is preferred.
Experience: Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program and will be able to function in critical settings including initiation, and support of, mechanical ventilation. Additional experience relating to intubation and pediatric transport competencies are preferred upon hire.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have the ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation.
