Job Summary:
Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values. Provides medical nutrition care to patients through nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention and education utilizing evidence based guidelines. Develops care plans with appropriate follow-up and reassessment of intervention. Manages the total nutritional care of patients receiving Enteral Nutrition. Assess and diagnose patients for malnutrition.

Reasoning Development:
Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Deals with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Development:
Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, statistical analysis, in addition to basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division abilities.
Language Development:
Reading: Read scientific and technical journals, abstracts, and financial reports. Records data via paper and electronic means.
Speaking/Communication:
Communicates verbally using effective voice tone, diction and medical terminology. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and leadership. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs), telehealth platforms, and other technologies are essential.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition form an accredited college or university required. Alabama State Licensure. Possess or obtain within 6 months of hire: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Experience: At least two years of previous clinical experience preferred, but not required.
