Overview

The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care though assessment.  The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs.  The RN evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes.  The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered in all phases of Critical Care Transport.  The RN must be able to perform duties in all types of weather conditions.  The RN must be able to perform these duties based on pre-established protocols and procedures outside the traditional hospital setting. 

Qualifications

Education required: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing. 12 Lead EKG class required within 4 months of employment. Required Prerequisites for Employment: Must complete and successfully obtain passing score on EKG and pharmacology exam.

License, certification and/or registration: Current Alabama nursing license. EMT license preferred or required within 1 year of employment. NRP requried or acquired within 3 months of employment. BCLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS certification required.

Experience: 3 years experience preferred in pre-hospital Critical Care Transport. Extensive background in delivery of critical care in an emergency department or other critical care type setting.
