Overview

Maintains inventory, computer entry, receiving, storage, and distribution of all supplies used in the department. Establishes and maintains files for ordering supplies and equipment. Provides terminal cleaning, packaging, sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. Records sterilization process according to hospital policy. Orders, receives and distributes all supplies and equipment used in Central Service/Instrument Room. Prepares specialty carts, and respiratory wraps. Cleans appropriate equipment in central.

Qualifications

Education / Licensure / CertificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Previous experience as a Sterilization Technician preferred.

Additional Skills / Abilities:

  • Must be able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize task and respond quickly to Unit needs.
  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent communications skills.
  • Must be able to transport equipment throughout the hospital.
