The Certified Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the RN provides services to surgical patients, maintaining an aseptic environment. The certified surgical technician assists in the transporting of patients.

Education required: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of a formal accredited surgical technician program.

Education preferred: Successful completion of a surgical Technician Program preferred if grandfather status

License, certification and/or registration: BCLS certification required. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technician or grandfather status from the State of Tennessee.

Experience: Previous Surgical Technician experience preferred
