Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the House Supervisor is the primary unit contact for allocating house-wide resources based on patient and unit needs. Collaborates with unit staff to implement decisions and to stay abreast of changing priorities. Oversees patient flow and intervenes as necessary. Supports the hospital leadership in a highly diverse range of issues such as representing administration when they are not present in house, providing clinical expertise for patient care, maintaining regulatory standards for EMTALA, JACHO, or CMS. The supervisor assists managers and directors with employee relations, injuries and job performance.
Education: Associates in Nursing required.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of relevant clinical management experience; Minimum of five years’ experience in relevant regulatory and professional regulations including JACHO standards, CMS standards & EMTALA standards. A basic knowledge of typing skills and of various software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and personal computers is needed.
Licenses/Certificates:
Alabama Registered Nurse License
Current BCLS and ACLS required at time of hire
Current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or obtained within 9 months of hire
