The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. The RN plans and delegates
care based on patient needs. The RN executes therapeutic physician orders and nursing interventions.
The RN evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment or of progress toward expected
outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
Education Required
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
License, Certification and/or Registration
• Current Alabama or Multistate nursing license required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (must be completed within 90 days of hire).
• ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) certification must be completed within the provisional
period.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.
• Signed agreement on file for weekend employees, or any other position that requires additional
job requirements (as agreed upon by supervisor and staff member).
Experience
• Critical care experience preferred, new graduates accepted.
• Previous dental experience preferred.
• Previous OR, Pre-Op or PACU experience preferred.

• Ability to work as a team.
• Ability to use effective interpersonal relation skills when working with a variety of people and
situations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
