Overview

Works to ensure that all HH EMS vehicles are in proper working order to provide transportation to the clients by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

Oversees scheduling vehicles for preventive maintenance using appropriate software
• Oversees and/or submits daily maintenance activity report to operations and System Leadership
• Prepare monthly reports for maintenance cost, vehicle mileage and maintenance performed
• Supervise and oversee all preventive maintenance and repairs performed in house
• Coordinates with outside vendors for warranty work and repairs off-site
• Oversees and maintains all shop area and all equipment therein to include annual maintenance and testing
• Maintain stock of common parts to be replaced on vehicles as well as equipment carried in vehicles (e.g.
ambulance stretcher components)
• Inspect and perform or oversee scheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment used on EMS vehicles
(e.g. Stryker Stretchers and Stair Chairs)
• Oversees and provides for maintenances of all ambulance sub-systems to include patient movement
equipment, response components, safety devices, and communication equipment
• Review and modify vehicle specifications for future ambulance purchases
• Solicit bids from and confer with ambulance vendors
• Serve as liaison to final stage ambulance manufacturers, automobile dealerships, and up-fitters used to
acquire and procure emergency response vehicles
• Advise management on current status of vehicles and suggest maintenance procedures to follow
• Interface with Operations to provide appropriate information on educating personnel on safe operation and
basic maintenance procedures for trucks

Qualifications

1) Education/Experience:
College degree preferred, or minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a motor pool or vehicle fleet.
Experience with emergency vehicles preferred
2) Certificates and Licenses:
1. Possess and maintain current Alabama vehicle operator’s license
2. EVT or equivalent ASE certification
3) Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math/algebra.
4) Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of common office productivity
software.
