To assist with daily operations in the Pre-Services Department. Assist in the supervision and evaluation of the assigned staff for productivity and accuracy. Meet and maintain departmental accuracy goals while maintaining any assigned worklists.Communicate with ancillary departments, physicians, insurances, and patients as needed. It is expected that all job functions are performed in a manner that promotes the highest level of compliance with various legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements while maintaining all protected health information in manner that complies with HIPAA requirements.
Works closely with Pre-Services Director/Managers to complete annual evaluations and competencies of staff members.
Works politely and professionally with all departments, clinics, insurances, and patients.
Ability to answer any questions submitted by staff. If answer is not known, be willing to research or ask questions to find appropriate answer.
Ability to assume leadership responsibilities in absence of the Pre-Services Director or Managers including but not limited to:
Compile and analyze required departmental reports as needed.
Update, maintain and create Policy and Procedures for assigned areas as requested.
Assist with departmental hiring and training.
Reviews financial charts of quality staff to ensure accurate data.
Demonstrates customer service as defined by Huntsville Hospital standards.
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Management or related field from an accredited college or university preferred but not required.
Minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience preferred.
Prefer at least three to five years of healthcare experience.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required, Publisher and Access preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and written.
Excellent organizational skills and exhibits diplomacy and time management skills.

Experience with Medical Terminology preferred.
