Additional Responsibilities:
Develops the design intent and spatial requirements based on operational data. Reviews the work of contracted (licensed) firms to ensure it meets the hospital’s specific functional needs. Provides layout solutions for non-clinical areas (warehousing, offices) to maximize footprint efficiency. Provides high-level support to the CAD Specialist.
Education requirements:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in Architecture, Design Management, Construction Management, or related discipline
Experience requirements:
3–5 years of experience in architectural drafting, facility planning, or healthcare design
Experience working in a hospital or healthcare facility environment preferred
Experience conducting field surveys and preparing as-built documentation
Experience with space programming and stakeholder coordination
Experience managing CAD standards and facility drawing databases
Experience coordinating external vendors and consultants
Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
Working knowledge of Revit (preferred)
Understanding of building codes and healthcare standards (IBC, NFPA, FGI Guidelines)
Ability to produce demolition plans, construction documents, furniture and finish layouts
Knowledge of facility asset management systems
Ability to review shop drawings, submittals, and construction documents
