Overview

Biomedical Technician will respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on basic medical equipment and drive customer satisfaction through service excellence. 

 

Responsibilities

1. Evaluate basic medical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs.
2. Perform planned maintenance (PM) on basic medical equipment.
3. Under supervision, evaluate complex medical equipment ussies, implement appropriate repairs.
4. Under supervision, perform planned maintenance (PM) on complex medical equipment.
5. Follow training plan to promote to BMET II
6. Follow appropriate hospital policies and procedures.
7. Work as a member of the team to ensure patient safety and support department goals and
objectives.
8. Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
9. Develop and maintain excellent customer relations.
10. Establish and engage in proactive daily communications with customers, to ensure resolution and
proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
11. Document all PM and repair actions in CMMS.
12. Maintain appropriate parts inventory.
13. Ensure proper care of tools and test equipment.
14. Operate with efficiency and sense of urgency.
15. Be willing to learn and adapt to changing environments.
16. Empower and inspire others.
17. Understand and utilize sources of help (i.e., manuals, tech support, online resources) to answer
questions when performing PMs and repairs.
18. Be available after hours including weekends for critical issues and coverage as needed.
19. Share in on call responsibilities.
20. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

 

Education Preferred:Possess associates degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electrical, electronic or biomedical fields.

 

License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.

 

Experience:

• Two years experience maintaining medical equipment in a hospital environment considered in lieu
of degree.
• Two years classroom experience in electronics, I.T. or air conditioning/refrigeration OR
• Two years experience maintaining medical equipment in a hospital environment.

 

Additional Skills/Abilities: 

• Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the
customer in an easy to understand manner.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule from.
• Must have basic knowledge of office software and technological tools (iPad, iPhone, etc.).
• Must have reliable transportation.
