Responsible for effective professional leadership of Pharmacy services. Responsible for the efficiency of departmental operations on a daily basis in accordance with administrative fiscal directives of the hospital. Incumbent in this position has a commitment to competent and contemporary patient care . Positive communication both verbal and written with Physicians, patients and hospital staff are essential .
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions1. Manage department operations efficiently, providing quality patient care within the scope of pharmacy services and in compliance with hospital policies and other regulatory entities. 2. Be responsible for departmental budgetary and human resource issues. 3. Participates in hospital committees and programs and 4. Directs or delegates inventory management as appropriate for special order items, conversion to formulary items, and processing out of dates, and contract compliance.. 5. Provides appropriate drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients and support for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. 6. Develop, review and revise departmental policies, procedures and operations. 7. Directs and supervises work of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy buyer appropriately.

Experience: 5 years experience at a supervisory level in an acute care hospital, background in sterile products or an equivalent education and experience.
