This position is responsible for field liaison duties and functions between all Marshall Medical Centers departments and external customers to include physician offices, nursing homes, nurse practitioners, assisted living facilities, industry/businesses, vendors, et al. This position will be responsible for addressing physician, physician staff, other healthcare providers, patient, interdepartmental, industry/business and vendor needs, concerns, education, and solicitation for various Marshall Medical Center service lines and affiliated physicians and providers as appropriate.
The Physician Liaison endeavors to promote Marshall Medical Centers to physicians and industry/business through education regarding services and opportunities available to them and their patients/employees. This includes, but is not limited to, solicitation of referrals for MMC service lines, the introduction and promotion of new physicians, leading in relationship building between MMC affiliated specialists and MMC affiliated Primary Care Providers by encouraging and facilitating face-to-face visits, education on MMC service lines through direct face-to-face contact and delivery of marketing collateral, active participation in various hospital, industry/business and community events, and active participation in organizations and events that provide interaction opportunities, e.g., MGMA, BCBS Town Hall meetings, MMC Senior Health and Fitness Day, etc. This person should work to become a primary line of communication between the hospital, physicians, and industry/business. Must show initiative in anticipating issues and seeking solutions with regard to physicians, patients, employers, MMC employees, and/ or co-workers, in an effort to preserve or improve the reputation of Marshall Medical Centers.
This person will work closely with hospital administration and senior management on various projects as needed and guided by his/her Director. He/she will promote outpatient services by working with department managers to make joint physician office and industry/business visits and provide luncheons, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, healthcare management, business administration or related field is preferred.
Two or more years of healthcare marketing, customer service, or business development experience desired with strong emphasis on demonstrated physician office relationship building.
Must exhibit strong customer service and relationship building skills, as well as initiative in problem solving.
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication and comprehension skills. At a minimum, intermediate level experience is required in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point.
