Applicants will be responsible for the non-urgent transport of patients in accordance with the Emergency Services Act of the State of Alabama; as well as, the philosophy, objectives, and goals of HH Highlands EMS System. Applicants shall respond to, evaluate, provide basic care, transport, and maintain all pertinent documentation for such non-urgent transports. Patient safety and security shall be priority.
Determines the direct transportation needs of assigned patients and then provides transportation within authorized parameters.
Coordinates patient transport needs with patient, physicians, nursing, ancillary services, and/or health care facility when necessary.
Safely operates non-emergent medical transport vehicle.
Documents all pertinent data as required by HH – HMC and state or federal laws.
Keeps current knowledge of HH-HMC policies and procedures.
Keeps current knowledge of CPR techniques and treatments.
Keeps current knowledge of Jackson County road system, geography, rural communities, etc. Is able to determine the best route to any given location.
Graduate of an accredited High school or equivalent. Demonstrates a working knowledge of pertinent Department of Transportation standards. Must meet current insurance requirements of age and driving records.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Must have CPR certification or be able to obtain CPR certification.
