Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Professional Services Revenue Cycle Management, the Professional Services Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for developing, promoting and maintaining effective processes related to claims follow up, reimbursements, payment posting and patient collections.  This requires a clear understanding of work flows of the various functions as well as close monitoring to assess and address issues related to those processes.  The A/R Manager will develop and maintain the functional technical skills necessary to assist staff when needed to promote optimal timeliness in the various processes.  The A/R Manager will ensure compliance with various laws, regulations, policies and rules related to claims processing and reimbursement.  The A/R Manager will demonstrate excellent personal integrity and will promote a culture of trust and collaboration among the team which support the goals of the Huntsville Hospital System.

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business; focus on healthcare management preferred.  May consider experience in lieu of degree.

 

Experience:  Minimum of five years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare business setting.  Progressive experience in billing/collections for physician services.

Additional Skills/Abilities:

  • Requires thorough understanding of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines as well as commercial insurance policies regarding coverage, medical necessity and billing standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare compliance, including HIPAA.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
