Responsible for clinical, consultative and educational activities that identify and facilitate trauma processes and promote staff education. Guides the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of the trauma program under the supervision of the Trauma Program Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager. Works closely with other clinical areas, ancillary departments, and pre-hospital personnel to ensure consistency and quality of care for the trauma patient. This position is responsible for communication of resource needs across multiple departments.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited college or university, bachelor degree preferred; Current Alabama nursing license; ACLS, TNCC and PALS certification required or must be obtained within the first year of employment (Instructor preferred); Red Shirt Trauma Trained Nurse (preferred)
Experience: Minimum of five years experience as a staff nurse in an emergency department or trauma center; Recent management and/or instructor experience required; Specialty experience in emergency medicine and trauma care preferred
