Overview

Inspect, report malfunctions, and make repairs to HVAC equipment and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, adjustments, lubrication and filter maintenance on HVAC equipment, such as DX Equipment and air handlers, pumps, valves, piping, and stand-alone controls.
  • Assist other technicians in repairs to larger HVAC equipment items.
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures with a minimum of supervision on HVAC equipment such as fan coil units, small air handlers and pumps, and stand-alone control systems.
  • Perform repair and adjustments on Kitchen Equipment.
  • Manage time properly to insure timeliness of work order and PM completion.
  • Complete maintenance documentation in a timely and accurate fashion.  Gather missing information for addition to the record.
  • Maintain mechanical and storage locations in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Perform repairs and adjustments on components of Medical Gas and Medical Vacuum systems.
  • Respond to fire and other emergencies.

Qualifications

Education:

HS/GED preferred.  Technical training in preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment and related systems.

 

Experience:

Five years experience or comparable combination of education and experience in HVAC maintenance.

 

Additional Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC equipment with assorted hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read manuals, schematics, and diagrams, with a basic understanding of blueprints.
  • Ability to reason and troubleshoot problems in a logical, systematic manner.
  • Ability to maintain and complete written records, logs, requisitions and work orders.
  • Posses a basic understanding of applicable codes and ordinances.
  • Knowledge of general safety rules.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
