Overview

Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.

Qualifications

Education Required

·         Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited university required.

Education Preferred

·         Completion of post-graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred.

License, Certification and/or Registration

·         License to practice pharmacy in Alabama required.

·         Proof of current AHA BLS/ACLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.

Experience

·         Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical practice strongly preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities

·         Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.

·         Must be proficient in mathematics.
