Job Summary:
Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values. Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental operations on a daily basis in accordance with administrative and fiscal directives of the hospital.
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, serves as the director of all diagnostic and outpatient services to include Cardiopulmonary Services, Cath Lab, Pre-Assessment, Out Patient unit, and the Sleep Center. This role is also responsible for analyzing clinical, patient experience, financial and compliance outcome data and responding by coordinating/overseeing process improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Coordinates with Human Resources to support recruitment, retention and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions1. Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of services provided in the departments for which role is responsible for with the goal of identifying and resolving problems and improving quality. 2. Reviews, critiques and implements policies and procedures applicable to the environment and function of the department. Oversees the compliance with applicable federal and state regulatory and licensure requirements. 3. Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the department in compliance with policies and directives for operation. 4. Provides requested data and assists management team with analysis, and trending of variances, making recommendations for improvement as necessary 5. Ensures the safe and uninterrupted delivery of services through timely monitoring and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Ensures adequate competent staff to provide optimum services and meet the demands of the Cath Lab, Vascular Lab, Echo, EKG, EEG, Respiratory, Outpatient, Pre-Assessment, Endoscopy and Sleep services. 6. Evaluates personnel performance against established criteria in a timely manner and takes action as needed. Ensures that pertinent in-service training is held and documented appropriately. Coaches, mentors and advises direct reports. 7. Develops effective working relationships with medical staff, employees, and co-workers.
8. Monitors organization-wide data and communicates appropriately to Managers and/or Directors.
9. Completes other duties or task as assigned. |
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health related field, with Master’s degree preferred. BLS and ACLS certified.
Experience: Minimum of five years hospital clinical experience and three to five years in a management role.
