This position represents patient care directed toward critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and critical care transports.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

HS/GED Required. Currently enrolled in last semester or graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy College program. Applicant must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy within one year of hire. Must be certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within one year of hire. Certfication of BLS is preferred upon hire and required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer. ACLS and /or PALS certifications are preferred.

Experience:

Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory college accredited program. Once NBRC certification credentialing is obtained and after completion of department orientation and training; must be able to function in critical care, emergent, and urgent settings; including but not limited to the initiation , maintaining, and troublshooting of mechanical ventailation and respiratory therapy emergency response. Once NBRC certification credentialing is obatined, continued achievement of NBRC registry credentialing , intubation, and critical care transport competencies are preferred.
