Overview

 

The Social Worker plans, provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the unit. These services include but are not limited to the following: psychosocial assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management, treatment planning, rounding with clinical staff, attending/conducting unit meeting, discharge/care planning and follow-up, resource development/assistance, and serving as a member on various committees. The Social Worker further contributes to Social Services and the unit through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts and Quality Management efforts.

 

Qualifications

Education Required: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work

 

License Required: Alabama State Social Work License

 

Experience: Two to Three years hospital geriatric program preferred
