Overview

Maintains established standards of care, policies, objective, and goals in administering professional nursing care to all patients. The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The RN evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.

Qualifications

Education required: Graduate of state board School of Nursing

License, certification and/or registration: Current Alabama or Multi-state Nursing License required. BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained in the orientation period. ACLS, PALS, or NRP is required for critical care areas based on patient population.

Experience: Experience preferred; new graduates accepted

Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently. Department specific competencies must be completed within the provisional period.
