Manages the operation of the chart analysis and release of information section of the medical records department. Supervises HIM specialists performing chart analysis and medical staff notification of incomplete charts and other duties as assigned. Oversees release of information through contract vendor. Serves as a liaison between HIM and other medical and administrative staff and outside agencies as necessary.
Education: Require Associate or Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university.
Certification: Must have RHIT or RHIA or comparable certification
Experience: Minimum of two years medical record experience and two years supervisory experience.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be proficient in the navigation and use in a current day hospital EMR and proficient in MSOffice and MS Excel.
