Responsibilities

The Social Worker Team Manager is responsible for the provision of strong leadership within the case management department. The role is pivotal in the support and supervision of team members to ensure high quality service provision to Huntsville Hospital Patients.

 

The Social Worker Team Manager provides leadership and support change management in the continued development of our department in line with current regulatory and payer requirements.

 

The Social Worker Team Manager coordinates with physicians, nurses, social workers and other health team members to expedite medically appropriate, cost-effective care; applies clinical expertise and medical appropriateness criteria to resource utilization and discharge planning.

 

The Manager is accountable for 24 hour operations of the team.

Qualifications

Education: 

Requires MSW degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university and current Alabama licensure.  Requires active Supervision Certification from the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners for non-clinical LMSW Supervision.

Experience:  Five years hospital Case Management experience preferred, minimum of 3 years in hospital Case Management. Comparable combination of education and experience will be considered. Effective communication skills, verbal and written, as well as excellent organization skills are required.
